a court in Somalia's self-governing State of Puntland sentenced two men to death for killing Karkar Governor Yasin Said Hussein on April 26, 2009, in the outskirts of Qardho, the provincial capital of Karkar.
Sheikh Abdulkadir Nur Farah, who spoke on behalf of the judges, said four men driving a vehicle transporting drugs opened fire when they came upon bodyguards of the late Karkar governor. Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud and Bashir Mohamed Isse were sentenced to death.
