SOMALILAND: POLICE OFFICER SENTENCES TO DEATH OVER THE KILLING OF BUSINESSMAN

A police officer was sentenced to death in Somaliland following the murder of famous businessman in Qoton.
The Military Court has sentenced a former  police officer to death while a colleague is to serve five years imprisonment.
According to a statement issued by head of the Military Court has confirmed that Mr. Mohamed Abdilahi Abdi received capital punishment and his accomplice  Mohamed Ahmed Ismail received ten years imprisonment.
The Martial Court also found that the convicted police officer established an illegal checkpoint in Qoton as confirmed by local residents.
They stated that the two police officers used to rob vehicles to and from Qoton.
The Martial court found guilty of the police officer by intentionally shooting Mr. Gacmo Dheero to death.
The head of Martial court Yusuf Farah Sharmarke presided the case.
