High Court Judge of Hambantota, Ajith Masinha, sentenced to death three suspects in a murder case that was heard for the past twenty three years. The three suspects were convicted of having murdered Meegahalandage Jayasena aged 38 in front of his house at Moderapiliwela in Ambalantota.
The death sentenced was passed on Pannila Gamage, Ranjith Jinadasa Madawanarachchi and Sirima Edirisinha. Two out of the three sentenced to death were husband and wife. The deceased was murdered in January 18, 1993. Attorney-at-Law Gamini Jayasinha appeared for the suspects, while, Attorney-at-Law Charaka Dharmasiri appeared for the complainant.
