The North Central Province High Court Judge, Manjula Thilakaratne, handed down the death sentence to a man convicted with the murder of a woman, Police said.
The murder had taken place on 25 March 2009. Reports stated the female victim was first assaulted and then burnt over a family dispute. She had died due to severe burn injuries.
High Court Judge Thilakaratne giving his verdict said all charges against the accused were proven without a doubt.
