Franklyn Dorset, the Superintendent of Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) in Basseterre, St Kitts, reported that there are seven men in the death row. Justice Albert Redhead ordered that Louis “Tooloo” Gardener, Sheldon “Hatcher” Isaac, Romeo “Buncum” Cannonier and Ruedeney “Denney” Williams “be hanged by the neck until dead”, for the murder of Gavin “Magilla” Gilbert of Saddler’s Village. Dorset revealed that the other three condemned prisoners are Travis Duport, Al Laplace and Everson Mitchum. Duport was convicted of murder in 2006. In that case, the prosecution said Duport went to the house of Satron Williams in Newtown, called him outside and then shot him in the head, killing him on the spot. Laplace was convicted in 2005 for beating and stabbing his wife to death in Sandy Point. A jury convicted Mitchum of shooting and killing a man in a robbery attempt at a barbecue stand on Cayon Street.
