SUDAN: 22 SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR TERRORISM

anti-terrorisms courts in Sudan sentenced another 22 of the alleged Darfur rebels to death for terrorism and involvement in the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM). One of those sentenced to death is aged 16, a punishment that would be illegal in Sudan but the judge reportedly "thought the suspect lied about his age." The Khartoum North Anti-terrorism Court sentenced Fadul Hussien Rizig Allah, Mohamed Arabi Ismail Ahmed, Mahmud Abakar Mursal, Mohamed Hashim Ali Abdo, Bushara Yahya Mohamed Salih, Mohamed Adam Abdalla Mohamed, Haytham Adam Ali Adam, Haroon Abdlegadir Haroon Hassan, Adam Abdalla Younis, and Mohammed Araby Omer Dawod to death for terrorism and involvement in the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM). The Omdurman anti-terrorism Court 1 convicted and sentenced to death Mohamed Mansour Khatir, Osman Rabih Mursal, Adam Mohamed Issa, Mustafa Adam Saboon, Ibrahim Abakar Hashim, Mohamed Sharif Abdalla Suliman, Mohamed Adam Zarieba (16 years old), Adam Alnor Abdelrhman, Abu Bakar Ibrahim Sharif, Abdalla Adam Ibrahim, Ibrahim Adam Alrasheed and Bashir Adam Alsanoosi.
