SUDAN ASKED EU NOT TO INTERFERE IN DEATH PENALTY

the Sudanese government urged the EU not to interfere in the issue of banning the death sentence as it is related to religious and cultural conceptions. Rapporteur of consultative council for human rights Abdelmoniem Osman Taha stated that legally no law can stop Sudan from executing the death sentence. Concerning the last report issued by UN human rights high commission which allegedly reports of human rights abuse in Northern and Southern Sudan, Taha stated that the report was politically based. He assured that Sudan replied to UN human rights high commission in writing and refuted all claims. With regard to violation in Southern Sudan, Taha explained that Sudan requested an urgent review as Southern Sudan still has infrastructural problems.
