Capital punishment has been chosen as a sentence for a Rapid Support Forces officer by the Criminal Court of El-Geneina, Sudan, Live Report reported on 4 December 2019.
The court headed by Judge Muhammad Abu al-Qasim sentenced the former captain of the RSF to death by hanging for killing a civilian in June 2018 in the Karti area west of El Geneina.
It became known during the trial that the officer had shot Hajj Al-Taher Omar and left him slowly asphyxiate without any assistance or aid despite the fact of the presence of an ambulance that had followed the RSF to Camp Kriti.
