Sverdlovsk region governor Eduard Rossel proposed to introduce the death penalty for drug trafficking on the entire territory of the Urals Federal District for five to six years. He put forth the proposal at a meeting regarding the security border, chaired by the president's representative to the Urals Federal District. The participants at the meeting claimed that the number of drug addicts in the area rises by tens of thousands every year.
