SWAZILAND. TEACHERS ASSOCIATION DEMANDS RETURN OF DEATH PENALTY

the Swaziland National Association of Teachers (SNAT) called for the return of the death penalty. The call came in the backdrop of a recent incident in which a school principal was allegedly beaten to death by her husband. The organization said it was high time that the government took serious action against men who killed their spouses. Delivering a speech on behalf of SNAT, former President Phineas Magagula said there were people such as David Simelane who had allegedly killed 45 women but were receiving the best treatment at Matsapha Prison.
“This man eats a decent breakfast and other meals that only a few of us here can afford. We are tired of men who buy shoes for the purpose of using them to kick women until they die and get away with it,” he said.
