Taliban fighters have a chilling four-year history of atrocities, a United Nations human rights investigator said.
Kamal Hossain said UN probes had uncovered a trail of massacres, torture, rape and destruction of property dating back to May, 1997.
He said in January 2001 Taliban fighters executed about 130 young men by firing squad. At least one young boy was skinned and another was burned to death.
In May and June, Taliban soldiers executed 150 people and set fire to 800 bazaar shops, a high school, a mosque, a hospital and as many as 500 houses.
