Taliban militants hanged a woman over adultery charges in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, local officials said, adding that the woman was found guilty of adultery during a tribal court hearing conducted by the militants.
The provincial governor spokesman Ahmad Nawid Frotan confirmed the incident and said the woman was hanged in Sarda area of the restive Teergaran district, which is under the control of the Taliban.
