Teacher Ramesh Sahu was sentenced to death by a court in Shahdol, India, on charges of kidnapping and killing an 11-year-old boy in 1999. According to the prosecution, Sahu abducted Amit Basna and demanded a ransom of Rs 25,000. When he did not get the money, Sahu strangulated Amit, whose body was found in a sack.
