Terry Lyn Short, 47, has been put to death at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary. Short was condemned in 1997 for the death of 22-year-old Ken Yamamoto, a Japanese exchange student, in 1995. Yamamoto lived one floor above Short's ex-girlfriend and died after Short threw a gasoline-filled bottle into her apartment that ignited the building. Short becomes the 1st condemned inmate to be put to death in Oklahoma this year, the 7th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in the USA and the 1106th overall since the nation resumed executions on January 17, 1977.
