Thailand's Parliament unanimously passed a bill to change the method of execution from shooting to lethal injection. Justice Minister Purachai Piamsomboon said the prisoner facing execution would be given three injections - the first to render him unconscious, the second to induce muscular paralysis, and the third to stop his heart. Lethal injection was considered a more humane method of execution as it allowed the condemned to die in peace, the minister said. Another new bill approved by the House prohibits death sentences or life in jail terms for convicts under 18. The maximum penalty for juveniles was set at 50 years in jail.
