The 2001 report on child soldiers by the Coalition to Stop the use of Child Soldiers said that in 1999 the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) executed five boys aged between 14 and 17 years suspected of belonging to the opposition Allied Democratic Forces. Government however said such actions are not believed to be characteristic of the UPDF.
