The Court of Appeal confirmed a death sentence passed by the High Court against former under secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Obote II's regime Anthony Okwanga. Okwanga had been convicted and sentenced to death after he was found guilty of shooting Veneranda Pinyanga. Okwanga was also convicted of kidnapping with intent to murder one Jurudano Onen and attempted murder of Acelma Giriker both of Angal Village, in the Nebbi District.
