The Bangkok Criminal Court sentenced a man to death for killing his wife while under the influence of drugs. The sentence was commuted to life imprisonment because Tuan Boonchuay, 27, pleaded guilty. Tuan, a drug addict, was found to have beaten Warunee Khamthawong before stabbing her in the face, neck, and chest with a long knife at their house in Soi Phahon Yothin 1 on October 28 2001.Tuan said he killed Warunee because he was angry she had left him.
