The Benetton group said it would continue its advertising campaign featuring death row convicts despite the American store chain Sears' decision to take the Benetton brand off its shelves. The clothing company said that Sears' move was probably prompted by strong public sentiment, fuelled by politicians, on the death penalty in the US.
