The Cambodian capital was blanketed in tight security, a day after fierce fighting in the streets between dozens of armed rebels and security forces left eight people dead. Phnom Penh governor Chea Sophara said 68 suspected insurgents had been rounded up so far in an ongoing security sweep through the city by squads of heavily armed police and military. "Up until this morning we have arrested 68 suspects. These people must be severely punished and jailed. They deserve the death penalty for their actions," he said.
