The Chamber of Deputies approved unanimously a motion that bound the government to steer the EU to present a new resolution for the abolition of the death penalty at the Commission for Human Rights. The motion was proposed by the leader of the rightwing Alleanza Nazionale (National Alliance, AN) parliamentary group Gustavo Selva, and was seconded by all the government and opposition parliamentary group leaders.
