the Court of Appeal in Uganda upheld a death sentence against two men, who were convicted of robbery. “We found out that the witnesses had identified the convicts. So, the appeal has no merit and it should be dismissed,” the court, headed by the Deputy Chief Justice, Laetitia Mukasa Kikonyogo, ruled on Monday. The other members were justices Stephen Engwau and Stephen Kavuma. The court heard that on October 4, 1999, Mustafa Nsubuga and Mohammed Bin Musa Maganda robbed Francis Sinyoli of over sh43m at Mbale Municipality Shell Petrol Station. They also threatened to shoot him. Nsubuga was arrested on the same day, while Maganda was apprehended almost a year later. The duo appeared before Justice Faith Mwondha in Mbale in 2002 where they were found guilty.
