The Democratic Alliance slammed Independent Democrats leader Patricia de Lille's reaction to its leader's stance on the death penalty, describing her actions as a "flip-flop and "exposing her as the hypocrite she is"

The Democratic Alliance slammed Independent Democrats leader Patricia de Lille's reaction to its leader's stance on the death penalty, describing her actions as a "flip-flop and "exposing her as the hypocrite she is". De Lille had criticised her DA counterpart Tony Leon for his support of the death penalty for certain crimes, saying she was "outraged". DA chief spokesman Douglas Gibson said in a statement that De Lille criticised Leon for supporting the death penalty, but she favoured had stated in a 2003 interview that she supported a referendum on the issue.
