the Dubai Appellate Court commuted the death sentence

the Dubai Appellate Court commuted the death sentence given to Hamad Saud, accused of torturing his daughter Wadeema to death, to life imprisonment.
The sentence was reduced as the bench could not reach a unanimous decision on the death penalty.
However, the bench upheld the life term given to his partner.
The two suspects were found guilty of torturing, both mentally and physically, Wadeema and Mira for about six months by depriving them of food and clothes and imprisoning them, leading to Wadeema’s death.
