The families of the martyrs staged a demonstration to protest the postponement of the execution of the capital punishment for [Kurdish leader] Abdullah Ocalan. During the demonstration, "Respect for the Martyrs", the relatives carried banners reading, "Let's hang Ocalan" and "aren't 30,000 soldiers enough?" along with photographs of the martyrs and Turkish flags during the demonstration. The relatives also shouted slogans asking for hanging of Ocalan.
