The father of murder victim Marcus Doig believes in an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but said bringing back the death sentence will not happen.
Peter Doig heard his son's 18-year-old killer admit two murders, an attempted murder, and eight armed robberies.
Ese Junior Falealii also apologised for his crimes as Mr Doig sat in the back of the Manukau District Court. Mr Doig said he had always been a strong believer in a life for a life.
"Unfortunately it is all Treasury-driven, so we don't get it."
