The father of murdered British bar hostess Lucie Blackman, whose dismembered remains were found on January 9 at the seaside town of Miura by Japanese police, said her killer should face the death penalty."
Generally I am not an advocate of capital punishment because of the dangers of getting it wrong," Timothy Blackman said.
"But if the case is cut and dried I will be pleased if he hangs."
Under Japanese law, the killer would face death by hanging if found guilty of murder. The prime suspect in the case is Tokyo businessman Joji Obara, who has denied any involvement in Blackman's disappearance. Obara has already been charged with a number of rapes.
