The Guangzhou Municipal Intermediate People's Court sentenced Zhu Zexin, alias Zhang Xiong, to death with a two-year reprieve. He was found guilty of smuggling drugs. On February 1, 1999, Zhu Zexin was arrested in Shenzhen as he was about to cross the border at Luohu.
