The High Court in Mubende, Uganda, sentenced to death two men for robbery and murder.
The court, presided by Justice Dan Akiiki Kiiza, heard that Mwijuka Misaaki of Mengo-Kisenyi in Kampala and Yiga Jackson of Nakulabye in Kampala murdered Francis Kuteesa of Nakwaya village in Kiboga district on September 29, 1999, after robbing him of Shs 800,000.
The two pleaded guilty and prayed for leniency, claiming they were the bread winners of their families.
Justice Dan Akiiki Kiiza sentenced them to death, but advised them to appeal within 14 days in case they doubted his judgement.
