The Human Rights Association Istanbul Branch demonstrated in protest of the execution of Oklahoma bomber Timothy McVeigh. Making a speech in front of the U.S. Istanbul Consulate General, Branch Chairwoman Eren Keskin said "the crime committed by Timothy McVeigh violated human rights, but the notion of vengeance should not exist in a legal system. If it exits, the legal system would not be democratic or humane. The death sentence is murder. We invite the Unites States to apply human rights."
