The International Secretariat of OMCT(?) expressed concern over the deterioration of the security situation in Sierra Leone and the continuing violation of human rights and humanitarian law by armed parties, particularly against civilians - mostly women and children. These violations included rape, abductions, hostage-taking, summary executions, mutilations, forced labour and drafting of child combatants. OMCT called on the government of Sierra Leone to carry out full and impartial investigations into all violations since the signing of the Lome Peace Accord of July 1999 and bring those responsible for such violations to justice.
