The judicial and public security departments of Jieyang city and Jiexi county jointly held a public rally to announce the verdicts for several alleged criminals.
Sixteen criminal suspects, who had reportedly committed violent crimes including robbery, premeditated assault, extortion and blackmail and illegal possession of firearms were sentenced to varying punishments from five years imprisonment to death.
"Robbers" Li Jinquan, Li Wujiang, Li Huajian were sentenced to death and executed after the rally. Zhang Weizhen was sentenced to death with two year's stay of execution, on a charge of premeditated assault.
