The Mozambique Human Rights League [LDH] handed a petition to the attorney-general, listing cases of torture in the country. LDH President Dr Alice Mabota said, ''We would like the office of attorney-general and public prosecutor to ensure that torture is not used as a means of extracting information and curbing crime in Mozambique. The LDH is against crime, but we do not condone torture, which is another form of crime''.
