The National Commission for Women (NCW) rejected the death penalty for rape convicts but said it could be considered in case of child and gang rape. "Because of the death penalty, there is a possibility of more victimisation as the accused will not like to leave the proof behind," NCW Chairperson Vibha Parthasarathi said.
