The Nigerian Government unfolded its plan to reintroduce the death penalty for those found guilty of engaging in the vandalisation of public utilities, including the properties of the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA). "What we had before was death sentence. It was changed to life imprisonment. Now we will prevail on the National Assembly to amend the existing law," the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Professor Jerry Gana declared.
