Sudan's President Bashir urged his troops to continue their "jihad." Bashir's militia executed seven black school boys in Marial Bai during a slave raid on a nearby school. According to a local official, students were forced to watch as the boys were executed. According to Simon Wol, the Civil Commissioner of Aweil West County, the Government sponsors raids in peaceful villages, where men are killed; village elders are hacked with machetes and left for dead; the village is burned and devastated; and women and children are captured as slaves.
