The Russian military handed over to local Chechen police of Sernovodsk village in Chechnya's Sunzhenskiy District the remains of an unknown young man, which were torn to pieces. The Russian military said while handing over the corpse that he had blown himself up on a land mine, which he was allegedly planting. However, traces of bullet wounds could be clearly seen on the body while examining the remains. Residents of this village and eyewitnesses from other settlements of Chechnya said the most likely explanation was that the young man had fallen victim to an execution without investigation and then he was blown up with an explosive in order to cover the crime.
