The Slovenian Ministry for Foreign Affairs joined the expressions of deep regret addressed at China upon the execution of the former Tibetan monk Lobsang Dhondup which took place despite appeals of the international community. The foreign Ministry stated that it was against the death penalty but counties which practiced it had an obligation to respect international standards, something which was not done in the case in question.
