The Society for Tibetan Support in Slovenia, in co-operation with Amnesty International, began an international action entitled 'Moratorium 2000.' The groups intended to gather 10 million signatures to be sent to all countries that carry out the death penalty. They also sent a letter to the Slovene Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel, asking him to ensure Slovenia's support for the Tibetan struggle for freedom and democracy.
