the Somali military court executed a suspected member of the militant group Al- Shabaab for attacking senior Somali politicians in the town of Baidoa. The court said Siraji Abdullahi Omar (Hanad) was among a group of especially trained Al-Shabaab commandos who attacked the South West State of Somalia’s presidential palace in Baidoa in March, which killed at least eight people, including three Somali military officers. In attendance at the site of the execution were military court chairman, Liban Ali Yarow, First degree military court Chief Judge Hassan Ali Nur Shuute, National Army commanders and Southwest state administration officials.
