The Supreme Court upheld a death penalty sentence for Henry Lagarto and Ernesto CorderoVictim Alquiza. The two men were convicted of raping and murdering seven-year-old Angel Alquiza in 1994. The Court sentenced the men to die by lethal injection and ordered convicts Lagarto and Cordero to pay the victim's heirs P352,000 in damages.
