The United Nations Human Rights Commission adopted a resolution by roll-call vote of 31 in favour to none against and 22 abstentions, (E/.CN.4/1999/L.28) on the situation of human rights in Iraq. The Commission strongly condemned systematic, widespread and extremely grave violations of human rights and of international humanitarian law by the Government of Iraq, resulting also in summary and arbitrary executions, as well as political killings.
