The Uzbek newspaper Na Postu reported that a court in Tashkent sentenced two men to death for killing two policemen. It was reported that as two policemen attempted to arrest Fedotov and Akhmetashin for robbing a driver, they were attacked with knives and died from stab wounds on the way to hospital. "Having found A. Fedotov and E. Akhmetashin guilty of all the charges, the court ruled capital punishment for both of them," the newspaper said.
