The verdict in the trial of 15 people charged with the wilful contamination of 393 Libyan children with AIDS was again postponed to an unspecified date, according to legal sources in Tripoli.
The defendants include a Bulgarian doctor and five Bulgarian nurses plus one Palestinian doctor and eight Libyans. They are charged of wilfully injecting AIDS-contaminated products into 393 Libyan children, 23 of whom later died.
If found guilty, the six Bulgarians and Palestinian doctor who worked at the Benghazi paediatric hospital when they were accused, face the death penalty.
