The Vice Speaker of Armenia's Parliament Gagik Aslanyan discussed the death penalty with Italy's Ambassador to Armenia Paolo Andrea Trabalza.
Trabalza said the application of death penalty does not lead to a decrease in the number of crimes. Aslanyan said he is not against abolishing capital punishment however: "Exceptions should be made in regard to the criminals responsible for the terrorist act in the Armenian parliament on October 27, 1999," he said.
