Third District Judge Leslie Lewis vacated the death sentence of Elroy Tillman, ruling that the defense for Utah's oldest and longest-serving death-row inmate was denied access to important evidence during his 1983 murder trial. Tillman, now 67, was sentenced to death for the slaying of Mark Schoenfeld in May 1982.
