Three brothers, Mithu, Ramjan and Tipu Ali, were sentenced to death by the Additional District and Sessions Court in Bangladesh after being convicted of murder. It was reported that that the three, all in their 20s, beat up a man named Selim, a banana vendor, "following an altercation with him over a trifling matter" on December 2, 2002. Selim was admitted to Moheshpur Health Complex where he died later in the day.
