Three Hong Kong men were sentenced to death by a mainland court for trafficking and selling more than 126kg of Ice.
Xinhua reported that Shenzhen Intermediate People's Court ruled that Chan Chen-hei, 41, was a leader of a narcotics ring. Tse Kwok-fai and Kwok Lee-ming, aged 32 and 30, were also sentenced to death.
The court heard that the three were instructed by a Hong Kong man named Cheung, who is still at large, to traffic 123kg of Ice from Lowu in Shenzhen to a residential complex in the Futian district between May 16 and 23, 2001.The three were arrested on June 13 that year when they were trying to smuggle the Ice to Guangzhou. Another 3kg of Ice was found at Chan's home on the day of his arrest.
The defendants had 10 days to lodge an appeal to the Guangdong Provincial Higher People's Court.
