Three unidentified Afghan bandits were publicly hanged in the Iranian province of Khorasan near the border with Afghanistan. The three had been sentenced to death by the Iranian Revolutionary Court after a charge of drug trafficking had been brought against them. The police stated that 5 armed Afghani bandits had recently been killed in an early morning battle and another 145 had been arrested in the same province.
