Together with DSP deputy chairmen Zeki Sezer, Tayfun Icli and Suleyman Yagiz, Halici paid visits to the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), the Motherland Party (ANAP), and the Justice and Development Party groups to abolish death sentence.
Addressing journalists following the visits, Halici said that they would also pay visits to the True Path Party (DYP) and the Felicity Party (SP).
"During the meetings, political parties reiterated their views which are already known by public opinion. We saw that the DSP and the AK Party shared the same opinion on abolishment of death sentence.
Now, our discussions have concentrated on the method to abolish death sentence: whether we should make a constitutitonal amendment, or submit a draft bill.
